another weekend, come and gone
It's so hard for me to consider Sunday an actual weekend day. Maybe it's because I spend the day worrying about what I'm going to cover on Monday -- or just the whole "hauling my ass out of bed at an ungodly hour" part of the week. Bleh.
I managed to get chapter 40 of OGAM out this week, which was nice. Actually, I was only able to do that because the chapter wanted to be shorter than most. I'd actually like to get this bad-boy finished before I have to start making plans to either go off to school (again) or... huh. You know, I have no idea what I'm going to do if I don't get into any of those PhD programs. Well. Aside from consuming copious amounts of alcohol. I suppose it wouldn't hurt to send out another slew of resumes to high-end, private prep schools. I actually got offered a job at my old high-school last year. Pfft. Right. That'll happen. Teaching 8 classes with about 30 kids per class? No freakin' way. I have a hard enough time getting papers graded and handed back as it IS, and I only have four classes, with about 22 students each (except for the Brit Lit class, which is about 14 kids).
But, anyway.
After months of yearning (...okay, procrastination -- and a little searching) I finally found a store that had the first Fruits Basket DVD. Yeah, I know, I could've easily found the fansubs online, but you see, I'm not patient enough to download something for that long. Even with a cable modem.
I am, of course, in love. And annoyed as hell that now I'm going to have to wait until I get paid before going out and trying to find a store that sells the SECOND dvd.
In the meantime, I've started perusing the net for FB fanfic. The results have been less than promising. So far I've found a slew of sites that have Tohru paired up with ... well, everyone. And I mean everyone. Shigre, Momiji, Ayame, Kagura... everyone. There's GOT to be FB fanfic out there that doesn't suck. It's got to exist -- I just haven't found it yet. I shudder to think about sifting through the crap on FFN.
In spite of this, I have a definite feeling that FB is going to become my new pet obsession. ;)
Oh jeez. Pun completely not intended.
Anyway, time to experiment with LJ cutting. Hrm.
