wordinista: (misha's prezzie!)
I'm not a morning person. Never have been, never will be. I'd be content if the earliest I ever had to get up was 8 am. However, this is the real world, and I have to get up at 6:30 am. (And, can I say, I woke up from an indescribably pleasant dream to see that my alarm clock only read 3:15, went back to sleep, had a re-run of the same dream, which NEVER happens, and after what felt like fifteen minutes later, my alarm went off. *grumble*)

So, I try to get ready quickly in the morning so I can have time to make tea, maybe check my favorite web-comics, what have you. So I did. Well... I didn't make the tea because I couldn't find my travel mug.

So, I'm taking a few minutes to wake up, grumbling about the MIA travel mug, when I look at my watch and see that it's 7:35 -- the time I'm supposed to leave. Then I look at the clock on my monitor -- and it says it's only 7:20. Meanwhile, the grandfather clock is chiming that it's 7:45.

I've got fifty fucking time zones to walk through before I get to my car. When I get to my car, my dashboard clock claims that it's 7:39, while my watch insists it's 7:45.

For some reason it annoyed me today. What annoyed me more was my constant and unavoidable bad habit of LOSING freaking EVERYTHING. I keep my wallet and cell phone in my briefcase (*sigh* I want a Megatokyo bag instead, but somehow I wonder if I'd be able to fit as much crap in it). Anyway. Wallet, cell phone -- briefcase.

Except... they weren't.

Instapanic, which, at 7-something in the morning (exact time open to debate), is not fun. Then I remembered that George took me out to lunch on Friday, and I had my wallet and phone in my PURSE! YES!

Except... I didn't know where my purse was.

After much frantic running around, I found my purse. So. I had my bag, keys, wallet, phone, watch, ring, ID tag...

Missing sunglasses. Did not know where said sunglasses were.

Ran around more. Found sunglasses.

And somehow -- SOMEHOW -- in the midst of all of this, managed to get to work on time.

Today also marks the first time I actually called myself a 'baka' -- out loud.

But the morning classes were fun. Well, the 8 am class was fun for me -- the class had a timed writing exercise, an hour and fifteen minutes spent writing what might become my first FB fic, which will likely never see the light of day. ;) And then in my Brit Lit class, we watched Pride and Prejudice. And, mmm. Colin Firth. *drools* I'm quite proud of myself for introducing a whole new generation of fangirls to Mr. Firth's work. *grin*

And, really, Firth as Darcy? Uber hot.

*sigh* There are days I really, really love my job. :)
