There's a more technical medical term, but basically it can happen if you have a dog with a barrel-chest and they roll around after they eat. What happens is that the stomach... twists, and the gases build up, and can't be released. If left untreated, it can kill a dog -- Tora's family had a Doberman that died of it. :(
