I love, love, LOVE my Kitchen Aid mixers (I have two--a 4.5 and 5.0 quart), named Scylla and Charybdis. I've made several wedding cakes with them, and I make weekly cakes for my co-workers because it's just so easy to do.
I also bought a number of mixer attachments, including the grinder (worth every penny for making almond and hazelnut meal for Xmas baking, and also for making hamburger from good meat), and pasta roller and ravioli maker. MmmmmMmmmm, fresh butternut squash ravioli!
