I don't know what to do about this whole thing. Eloping sounds really good, and then maybe having something "official" later. The biggest bargaining chip my mom has is my grandfather. We're very close -- very. Our personalities are so similar, it's like we were made from the same mold. (And, yes, that means we're both cranky smartasses.) And I had really wanted him to walk me down the aisle. Well, grampa is 82 this March. He's a pretty damn spry 82, yes, but he's still 82. So, the point of having it now was so he could walk me down the aisle.
*sigh* I'm going to have to sit down with her and hammer something out. A lot of places down here -- cute, small, intimate places -- do what they call "intimate wedding packages," specializing in weddings with 30 people or less. We may go that route. Something small and private with just immediate family.
