Ahh, musical memory road

Right, so a few days ago I was browsing iTunes, and stumbled across a plethora of Songs I'd Forgotten Existed.  Basically tunes from hair bands of the late 80's and early 90's.  I knew I had most of the CDs with the songs I had, by that point, developed an urge to listen to.  So did I go scrounging through filthy boxes in our utility room, searching for CDs that were probably scratched beyond recognition, or did I click the happy little "Buy Now" button in iTunes?

I can waste money in iTunes like no one's business, so I figured I'd look in the utility room FIRST and see what I could find.

OMG.  I hit the motherload.  Bands I'd forgotten about.  SONGS I'd forgotten about.  (I also found George's soundtrack to Waterworld, which I pulled out of retirement for him, even though I hate that film with every single solitary fiber of my being.)  And a lot of the CDs are in excellent condition, but I think I know the reason for this.  When I was younger, I was unbelievably obsessed with taking care of my things.  I kept my CDs alphabetized in a rack, and always, always, ALWAYS put them back in the right case.  This went down the drain when I started dating George -- BUT, he only abused the CDs he borrowed.  Heh.  He never borrowed most of this stuff.

I'm too embarrassed to name most of the CD's I unearthed.  But aside from that, I'm astounded to find that I can still sing along with these songs.  I am, however, too old to air-guitar like I used to. ;)

MYGOD, I'm a dork.

Yes, but I count it among your charms. ;-)
