WOO HOO.  yuletide  fic is FINISHED AND POSTED.

mscongeniality , I ended up not sending it off to the beta you recommended, since I was feeling pretty good about chugging through what I wrote last night, and I knew she wouldn't be available today.  But thanks for the heads-up all the same. <3  (But I did spend most of last night surrounded by the source material and a number of other research materials, and once I fell into the groove and the voice, things started to click.)

I'm glad you felt comfortable with what you wrote. Trust me when I say my friend had enough on her plate yesterday, she's been wrestling with another writing deadline that is giving her problems.

Yeah, it totally sounded like she had her hands full. What I ended up doing was writing it through (there was a celebratory boogie when I hit the mandatory word-count), and then went through this morning and added all of the stylistic flourishes that makes that canon particularly awesome. ;) I'm just shy of 2K words, which is a bit short for me, but... it was just one of those things where that's as long as the story wanted to be, I guess? (I might tweak it a bit later on, if I get the urge, but as it stands now, it's finished and uploaded, and I canNOT complain about that, considering last year.)

Re: a technical beta, I think I could probably help you out! I'm about to make a quickie run to the grocery store (and maybe to Target, since it's right across the street), but I should have time later this afternoon, if that's not cutting it too closely?

Most excellent! 2,000 words is still a good length for Yuletide and if that's what the story needed, then so be it!

As for the beta...any time is fine! The deadline is for uploads, we can still edit between now and the reveal so as long as I have it before the servers get slammed for Madness, it should be fine.

Can you read .docx files or do I need to use a different format?
