Jumping on the baaa-- *cough* bandwagon!

Ganked from [livejournal.com profile] moonphased, [livejournal.com profile] squeakyinuears, [livejournal.com profile] naybob and many others!

1. Pick one dozen movies that are ones that you have special feelings about.
2. Pick a few lines of dialogue.
3. As people guess the film, strike out that entry, then put the name of the film next to it.

Some of these, yes, are ridiculously easy. I realize that. But some of them... might be more difficult to pin.

1.)
Char. #1: "In vino veritas."
Char #2: "Age quod agis."
Char. #1: "Credat Judaeus apella."
Char #2: "Ecentus stultorum magister."
Char. #1: "In pace requiescat."
Char #3: "Come on now. We don't want any trouble in here. Not in any language."
Tombstone

2.)
Char. #1: "We read five times that you were killed, in five different places."
Char #2: "As you can see, it was true every single time."
Casablanca

3.)
"It's like riding a psychotic horse toward a burning stable." The Birdcage

4.)
"It's not right for a woman to read! Soon she starts getting ideas, and thinking... " Beauty and the Beast

5.)
Char. #1: "I can't tell... if it's an "A sharp" or if it's a 'B flat'!"
Char. #2: "Heh, if you hit the wrong note, we'll all 'B flat!'"
The Goonies

6.)
"I know something of a woman in a man's profession. Yes, by God, I do know about that." Shakespeare in Love

7.)
"The one thing they love more than a hero is to see a hero fail." Spiderman

8.)
"I found you in Hell. Don't you think I could find you in Jersey?!" What Dreams May Come (w00t, Evvie!)

9.)
"I don't believe that man's ever been to medical school." Toy Story

10.)
"Snakes. Why'd it have to be snakes?" Indiana Jones: Raiders of the Lost Ark

11.)
Char. #1: "Are you coming peacefully or do you intend to resist?"
Char. #2: "Oh, don't be so stupid, of course we intend to resist! Just give us a moment, alright?"
The Three Muskateers

12.)
"You've never double-clicked your mouse?" American Pie

*sniffles and slinks back to bed with tea*

1) Tombstone
6) Shakespeare in Love
10)Raiders of the Lost Ark

I know that I know 7, 8, 9 and 11 but I'm not thinking too clearly at the moment. I'm off to get my own tea and go to my own bed...perhaps I'll come up with them later.

I had a feeling someone would get #10 right off the bat. It's such a well-known line, but it's SUCH a favorite of mine. :)

[identity profile] mscongeniality.livejournal.com 2005-01-14 08:17 pm (UTC)(link)
Well, I did used to be an archeologist. ;-)

Actually, that was why I chose that rather more obscure quote from the film when I did this meme. I love the scene where Belloq calls his bluff on destroying the Ark. It's so...perfectly in character for an archeologist.

[identity profile] karit.livejournal.com 2005-01-14 04:50 pm (UTC)(link)
Argh, I hate these kinds of memes. Several of them are really, really familiar, but damned if I know where they're from. Now it's going to drive me crazy trying to figure it out, and I'll never remember!

Possibly, if I'm having a really good day, I might come up with one of them later. >.> Really lucky day.

4) Beauty and the Beast.

I know a couple others, but I can't place them know. Maybe it will come to me later.

[identity profile] w0rdinista.livejournal.com 2005-01-14 07:34 pm (UTC)(link)
You got it. Though I love the line that follows:

"Gaston, you are positively primeval."

"Why thank you, Belle!"

*headdesk*

[identity profile] merith.livejournal.com 2005-01-14 06:06 pm (UTC)(link)
Some of these lines are great, and I think I know them, but the one I'm certain about is #5 - Goonies! *grin*

[identity profile] w0rdinista.livejournal.com 2005-01-14 07:33 pm (UTC)(link)
Hee! The one thing that always drove me crazy about that line is that on a piano keyboard, A sharp and B flat are the SAME DAMN NOTE.

[identity profile] rozefire.livejournal.com 2005-01-14 06:21 pm (UTC)(link)
#9 has to be Toy Story. ^__^ #7 reminds of of Hercules, but I'm not entirely sure...

[identity profile] w0rdinista.livejournal.com 2005-01-14 07:32 pm (UTC)(link)
Bravo! Yes, it's Toy Story! (I was sooo tempted to use something from the infamous "tea party" scene, but I figured that would be too much of a dead giveaway!)

[identity profile] slvrstarlight.livejournal.com 2005-01-14 07:11 pm (UTC)(link)
#7 - Spider-Man, #12--- American Pie? #8-- Dogma?

And I know 4, but can't remember the movie title.

[identity profile] w0rdinista.livejournal.com 2005-01-14 07:31 pm (UTC)(link)
Yes, yes, and no. I had a feeling someone might mistake #8 for a Dogma quote, but it's not. The problem with #8 is that while it's one of my favorite movies, it's not one laden with a lot of recognizable quotes. But I still adore it.

[identity profile] evilpuppy.livejournal.com 2005-01-14 07:15 pm (UTC)(link)
Casablanca! Heh... number 2. ^___^

Oooh, and I'm slightly embarrassed to admit I recognize this... but Three Musketeers for number 11.

Hee hee... and Birdcage. #3

[identity profile] w0rdinista.livejournal.com 2005-01-14 07:30 pm (UTC)(link)
Guess it's no surprise I snuck a Casablanca quote in there, huh?

Oooh, and I'm slightly embarrassed to admit I recognize this... but Three Musketeers for number 11.

Well, it looks like you and I have more and more things in common that we're unwilling to admit to. ;)

And I would've been disappointed if you hadn't picked up on #3. XD I just rewatched that a few days ago. My god, I love Albert to PIECES. And Agador!

[identity profile] dawnsama.livejournal.com 2005-01-14 11:01 pm (UTC)(link)
Oh boy, only one left... and I think I know it. Is #8 from Dogma?

[identity profile] dawnsama.livejournal.com 2005-01-14 11:16 pm (UTC)(link)
Damn.

*random fanatic sneeks up and strikes Dawn down for saying the D word*

*huffs on fingernails, buffs them on her shirt*

[identity profile] everstar3.livejournal.com 2005-01-16 07:57 pm (UTC)(link)
#8 is from... "What Dreams May Come."

Which I know because I know you loved that movie. And that's the ONLY reason I guessed. Scary, huh?

Re: *huffs on fingernails, buffs them on her shirt*

[identity profile] w0rdinista.livejournal.com 2005-01-16 09:35 pm (UTC)(link)
...

...

Think George would have himself turned into a Vengeance Demon if I left him at the altar for you?

...

Probably not, if we invited him to the honeymoon.

Re: *huffs on fingernails, buffs them on her shirt*

[identity profile] everstar3.livejournal.com 2005-01-16 11:18 pm (UTC)(link)
hell, if we told him he could tape the honeymoon, he'd probably cry with gratitude.

Up until he found out it was all quasi-roleplayed cybersex. Then maybe Vengeanceness.
