Busy, busy, day, but I seem to have come full circle: I woke up with a headache, and I will be going to bed with one as well.
That is not to say that today was a bad day. Oh, not at all. Today happened to be a pretty darned good day. Which is good, because, hey, Christmas Eve. But I'm tired and waiting for one laaaaast batch of cookies to come out of the oven, and then it's bedtime for me, although I am considering waiting around these last fifteen minutes to see Yuletide when it goes live.
I did get to open one of my gifts tonight -- a leather recipe/entertaining journal from Williams-Sonoma.
...
It's monogrammed.
I started putting my recipes in it already, yes. Loev husband.
Thirteen minutes till Yuletide goes live.
And my cookie timer is going off...
...
And cookies are finished, and there are eleven minutes till Yuletide goes live. I also have a few presents for Mom that I have to wrap. Which... may have to get done in the morning, because this headache is making my eyes want to close.
Ten minutes till Yuletide.
It's really dumb to want to be around when the archive goes live if I have a headache. And yet...
...Nine minutes till Yuletide.
...
I could just take the dog out one last time for the night.

We've all been doing our best to get along without Bronte around. I got home Friday to see that some friends had sent me a sympathy arrangement, which I had a good cry over. Tora and I both see little "ghosts" around -- a discarded sweatshirt on my computer chair looks at first glance very much like a certain black kitty curled up like the Queen of Sheba. The black throw pillows on the couch that used to camoflage her perfectly sometimes look like they're camoflaging her. Sometimes, in the dark, Kisa looks like Bronte as she's darting through the living room.
Both animals had brief moments of WTF when they figured out she wasn't around. Darwin's been sniffing around for her, and Kisa... mostly just sat in what used to be Bronte's little "sickroom" area and looked around like, "...There used to be something else here." It's hard, but we're taking it bit by bit.
We're taking more pictures of Kisa and Darwin these days. Especially since Tora moved the kitty jungle-gym into the living room. Kisa seems to like that. (We had moved it into the other room so Bronte could look out the window unimpeded, which she did often.) I kind of wish I'd gotten a picture of Bronte lying under the Christmas tree, but on the other hand, I didn't want to take any pictures of her when she was at her worst -- that isn't how I want to remember her.
...
Merry Christmas, Bronte.
