You are a very balanced individual. You are not only intelligent and have good morals, but you are also kind and loving. You are a true Disney princess at heart. Your book smarts and morality make you a good leader. In addition, your kindness brings people to your cause and inspires those who work for you. As long as you continue valuing kindness, you will go far in whatever you choose to do. You deserve a king so try to spend time with Mufasa. |

Up too early. Am sleepy. And kind of hungry. And... *yawn* I have to go grocery shopping. I'd really like to try and get past the current UT writer's block, though. That would make me really happy.
Not much going on -- Darwin's last puppyclass is next week, and they're doing a little "graduation" thing which promises to kill me of cute, and I will be taking my camera
A couple of my fics were nominated for a Furuba fic contest -- "Perchance to Dream" and "Justification for a Lie," but not "Bump," because it's for finished fics only. Ah well, it was a nice surprise and I'm really quite flattered, as both of those fics were pretty short and got written really quickly. So it was fun to find that in my inbox. Don't really expect either of them to win anything (probably because I wrote them so quickly), but I'm still happy and flattered. :)
Had a total breakthrough with Darwin re: leash-training yesterday. Apparently you never know what your puppy is capable of until you're stuck somewhere he needs to walk nicely and you have neither your training clicker nor puppy-treats. I wanted to take him to the park, but Luthor the Bully (a Golden Retriever who likes to chase Darwin under benches and picnic tables and keep him there) was there, and I didn't want anything to do with him. Besides, the vet recommended I keep Darwin from overexerting himself for a couple more weeks.
I figured if the park was empty, he could run around a little bit, but it was not to be. So, I took him for a walk around the park instead. Now, this park is... if you follow the paved path all the way around, it's two miles. There are also little cut-throughs, in case you don't want to go the full two miles. So, we started walkin' because I didn't take him there just to turn around and go home. For the first half mile (maybe three-quarters of a mile), it went a bit like this:
Step A: Take two steps.
Step B: Stop, sit.
Step C: Rinse, repeat.
Then something just sort of ... clicked. I don't know why or how (maybe it was the power of Porc's Darwin/Shiku-art!), but all of a sudden, he was walking nicely beside me (so nicely that I had to look down and make sure he was still there, and that I wasn't dragging a puppyless collar around the park). We walked for two miles that way (with the occasional stop, because he's still just a baby). So, yay!
We finally saw the Wallace & Grommit movie -- oh my god. LOVED IT. And, okay, yes, part of the love was for all the bunnies, STFU. And Grommit just... wins. At everything. Especially giant-bunny drag.
Hokay -- I have to hunt down something to eat. *stretches* (And I'd also like to figure out my recent WTF infatuation with country music. I used to listen to the local country station pretty regularly when I was commuting to Orlando, but stopped. And lately I seem to be rediscovering it. And maybe I'm just a big dork, but "Honky-Tonk Badonkadonk" holygod cracks my shit up. It does make good background noise, though, and not too terribly distracting.)
