More Puppy Musings

Just got off the phone with Mom, who made an interesting observation about teh unnamed puppeh:

"The white markings on his face look a little bit like the Phantom of the Opera's mask, don't you think?"

....

I love my mother.

As it turns out, we're going to have to have a name picked when we go and get the little guy, because the breeder is going to have to fill out the papers for him.  This rather kills my whole, "Let's learn his personality first" theory.  Although, she's going to send pictures as he grows, so we'll get a feel for what he looks like.

As of right this second, the short list includes (in no particular order):

Phantom
Akai
Byron
Payton

I did push for "Wimsey," and I may mention "Bredon" at some point.  A lot of the lit-names got shot down, unfortunately.  And, I'm sorry moonphased, but "Inuyasha" got a strong negative from Tora-kun.  However, since the pup was born in the year of the Rooster, and is a "redhead" to boot, we did toss around "Kureno," which we both like, but it seems impossible to shorten, so I don't know.

And very few people will get the joke, here, but when I suggested "Katsuro," he really liked that one.  I don't know if he liked it enough to put it on the short list, but it amused the hell out of me either way.

Tora-kun's suggestions, which I've vetoed, include:  "XBox 360," "Dog," and "Dawg."  I'm waiting for him to suggest "Halo," frankly.
