From Shiku-chan to Chibi-Chuu...

I don't expect 90% of the people on my f-list to understand what kind of crack I'm on right now, so please just smile and nod at the crazy person.

Long story short, last year evilpuppy made a voice post of Chibi-Chuu (her minion, supplied by the talented miyun) singing "O Holy Night." I thought it was the cutest thing evar, and told her so, profusely. This year, saya415 was trying to get her to make another Chibi-Chuu voice post. I joined in the cajoling.

The following exchange occurred Thursday night:

niamh_sama(11:46:08 PM): There must be another Chibi Chuu Carol!
evilpuppy(11:47:25 PM): HEY!
evilpuppy(11:47:32 PM): you aren't supposed to agree!
niamh_sama(11:47:37 PM): I know! But I do!
evilpuppy(11:50:39 PM): *sticks out tongue*
evilpuppy(11:50:42 PM): don't give her ideas

niamh_sama(11:51:49 PM): Shiku-chan would love Chibi-Chuu forever if he did another carol this year. :D

....Suffice to say, I couldn't think of an "excellent reason." So after convincing Shiku-chan (another minion supplied by the aforementioned talented miyun and shown in this post's icon) that "Let's Get it On" is not an appropriate Christmas carol, and several tries with crappy cell-phone staticky results, allow me to present Shiku-chan's gift to Chibi-Chuu:



PS: So, Puppy, where do we sign up for requests? I myself am rather fond of "What Child is This?" and "White Christmas."

In other news, last night we went with Tora-kun's parents, brother, and nephew to go see King Kong. I managed to suppress the urge to roll my eyes when his mother complained that the movie took too long to get to the action, and the general consensus was that it was too long and spent too much time on the "prologue."

His words (expressed once we were alone in our car) summed it up perfectly: "Sometimes I just don't get them." We both thought it was breathtaking and phenomenal, and the best thing we've seen in ages, and that Peter Jackson is a GENIUS. I don't know the last time I've cried so much at a movie. And in two entirely different places. Seriously -- I couldn't stop crying. It was that good. We both loved it. LOVED IT, OMG.

Okay. Now on to the Darwinsquee -- his eyes are starting to open! EEEE!

spamming, yes, but I need help...

I'm going nuts.  I'm trying to convert a recipe from metric, and I've got just about everything but the flour converted.

The recipe calls for 150g of flour.  One conversion calculator puts this at about 5 oz (which is just over half a cup), while another one puts it at about 1 and a quarter cups.  Obviously this is a big difference, and as I've already screwed up the recipe twice, I want to make sure I've got all the measurements right before I do it a third time.

So, please, anyone?  I only want to make this one more time.  Please?  Help the poor American with her questionable math skillz (statistics grade notwithstanding)?

EDIT: I just found this site called "The Metric Kitchen," that's a great resource: http://www.jsward.com/cooking/conversion.shtml -- and it backs up the 1 1/4 Cup measurement for flour. Off to give this recipe a third try. Tally-ho!
