And it's back to hot and humid

Well, one thing I can say about having so many storms lined up to kick our (and the Gulf coast's) collective asses is that for a few days (provided the storm doesn't hit FL), we get nice, breezy, low-humidity weather. And then it's not so bad to walk the dogs -- in fact, it's damned pleasant, because there's a breeze, and I don't feel like I'm walking through soup.
Today, it was back to yucky, soupy weather. I can't wait for fall, because, yeah, that week or so in November is worth the wait. XD
Baby Cousin Bride's wedding is next month. I am... not looking forward to the trip. I'm traveling to NH alone, I'm going to the wedding alone, and about the only thing I AM looking forward to is spending time with my baaaaaby cousin, the Maid of Honor. (Baby Cousin Bride is going to be kind of busy what with the getting married, and I'm going to be busy biting my tongue to keep from expressing what a douchebag she's marrying.)
To clarify: Baby Cousin Bride is only six years younger than I am. But she is and will always be my baby cousin. Actually, she and her sister are probably the closest thing to siblings I'll ever have. Why is she marrying such a douchebag?
I have not expressed this sentiment to anyone else in the family, because BCB's parents and sibs seem to like him. My uncles and aunts have expressed positive opinions about him as well, but I don't know if this is a case of "If you can't say anything nice, don't say anything at all." I don't like him, Tora doesn't like him, Tora's brother was calling him "douchebag" within thirty seconds of meeting him, Mom doesn't like him... It's an unsettling feeling when you feel like you're the only one at the party who hasn't drunk the Kool-Aid.
I got new sneakers this weekend! My old sneakers weren't exactly worn out, but even after six months of wear, I couldn't do anything in them without coming back with blisters -- on my toes, on my heel, on the bottom of my foot. So I got a new pair, venturing away from Nike and Reebok, and going for New Balance. ...The salesman wanted me to try on men's sneakers. Because they're wider. That was met with a hearty Hell no, because yes, I am just that vain. I've also been wearing a 9.5 M for as long as I can remember, and they suit JUST FINE THANKS. I did spring for some athletic insoles, since the sneakers I got were on sale and way less than I had planned to spend. They're springy. 8D
Sadly, about halfway through my walk (which is about 1-1.5 miles out), things started to feel like they were rubbing uncomfortably against the... hmm, the back of my ankle/heel/achilles tendon'ish area? And I now have, yup -- a blister. Hopefully this will just be a "breaking in new shoes" blister, and not a portent of things to come. Maybe I should just get a cart and let the dogs pull me -- to hell with all this walking bullshit.
Today's To-Do List:
Patrol Yard for Canine Landmines
Vacuum
Laundry (load 2/2, in dryer)
Dust living room
Empty dishwasher
Clean kitchen
KITTY LITTER D:
Clean up mess in the office
Find a new home for the weave poles (thiiis is going to have to wait, because I need to get a few things for the weave poles, and if I put them somewhere that is not constantly underfoot, I will forget to make that all-important trip to Home Depot)
Make oatmeal cookies
EDIT: SOMEDAY I will make a video of the dogs at mealtime. Because Sydney is just too much. (She sounds like she's trying SO HARD to form syllables. And if she could, I'm reasonably sure the first words out of her mouth would be "FEED ME. FEED ME NOW.")
