I got so very much done today (and yet STILL did not finish my to-do list), and I am so, so, so very tired.
To Do List:
1. Laundry (ETA: *has beaten back teh 3v1l laundry beast!*)
2. Go to bank
3. Grocery shopping
4. Replace air filter in apartment
5. Clean kitchen
6. Clean bathroom
7. Vacuum
8. Create Brit Lit Final
9. Tweak Comp II Final (ETA: DONE! HAH!)
10. Grade Comp II essays
11. Grade Comp I final research papers
I also went to Target, colored my hair, and baked not one, but two loaves of banana bread (because I had a few bananas that were just too ripe to do anything else with). I'll post the recipe to
cuisigeeks for anyone who's interested. It's a family recipe, and remarkably easy to make.
Of course, now I feel like I'm going to FALL DOWN, and I have to get these final exams created before I go to bed tonight. If I do nothing else tonight -- those two things have to get done. I can grade the Comp II essays tomorrow and give them back tomorrow night, and then spend the rest of the week on the research papers. But the exams -- I can't put those off. I can't.
I also need to do my contribution to the comedy RR on the GT forums. And I should work on my fic for
yuletide. Usually having a LOT to do results in Ill-Timed Inspiration (ITI), but so far that does not seem to be the case. I have been getting the urge to work on OGAM's 51st chapter -- after Ch 50, I needed a nap. A long nap.
Actually -- funny story regarding the pending chapter. When I uploaded Ch 50, I got a very nice review from someone off of Mediaminer, and I was very happy to receive it. However, part of the review made me scratch my head.
"I seriously think that you should write a novel or something on your own. This story is really really really really really good! I can't wait for the concluding chapter!!! Please write it soon!"
...So, I think this person is assuming that Ch 51 is the last chapter, which... really isn't the case. I mean, we're GETTING there, but we're not there yet. So far, I think it'll be wrapped up in 8 chapters -- possibly less. I'm shooting for less.
Well, eleven days after I uploaded Ch 50 -- ELEVEN DAYS, mind you -- I got this review from the same person:
"WRITE THE LAST CHAPTER ALREADY! I MEAN COME ON! PLEASE PLEASE PRETTY PLEASE!"
...?
Yelling at me does not make me write faster. And yelling "please" at me does not erase the fact that I am being yelled at.
...And it's not the last fucking chapter. Oy vey.
But at least I don't have someone telling me that I'm consistently misspelling words and using bad "grammer," eh
rozefire? ^_^
And now -- to start on my little list o' friends and why I hold them in such high esteem...
Dawn -- when the fandom seems overrun with annoying fangirls, all of whom seem to belong to a very specific demographic, you are a shining example that stands above the rest. You're mature, well-spoken, and level-headed, and these are traits that we don't get nearly enough of in fandom. You think before you speak, and that's an admirable trait in this day and age as well. I also admire your dedication to music -- speaking as one who took lessons but simply didn't have that ... spark, dedication, andpatience necessary to be a musician. Sometimes, when I read your posts, I wish you had a little more confidence in yourself, because you come across to be a bright, intelligent, articulate young woman, and bright, intelligent, articulate young women leave those other losers in the dust. ^^
