Continuing with the friends meme!

Saro -- ever since the ID days, I have LOVED your frank, no-bullshit approach to everything. I value your dry wit, your ability to cut right down to the core of an issue, and your ability to be unmistakably honest, rather than being cruel and CALLING it honesty. I know that when we first started talking on ID, I was pretty intimidated by this bluntness, but -- obviously -- that's not the case anymore. You don't suffer fools lightly, and in fandom -- any fandom, really -- there are pleny of fools to go around. One might call it a surplus of fools. We share a lot of the same jaded, slightly cynical views on fandom, and it's always fun when you can find someone ELSE who thinks the world is overrun by morons. You are also the author of the first AU 'fic I ever read, and one of the few that I can honestly say I LIKE. Despite the fact that it's not done yet.
*sigh* Evvie, Evvie, Evvie. What can I say that I haven't said already (drunk or otherwise)? I think I knew we were bound to be friends when I mentioned Melmoth the Wanderer and you DIDN'T say, "Who the What?". You're the first friend I made in the IY fandom, and despite the fact that we've not met (yet) IRL, you're someone who has crossed the line from being "random online pal" to "honest to goodness friend." Our late-night talks have run such a gamut, I can't begin to encapsulate them here. You're someone with whom I've shared laughter AND tears (yes, some of those tears due to the "dead imaginary dog"). You're also someone who has forever changed the association of "Kazaana" for me (I still say it's a conspiracy!). We share so many of the same likes, it's kind of scary sometimes -- fandoms, tea, movies, actors, music, characters, but there's JUST enough variety in our combined likes that we don't seem to ever run out of things to talk about.
You're also smart -- and as I've said before, I'm a slut for intelligence. I can't tell you how much I learn from you -- except for that physics stuff, which seems to run out of my brain like water through a sieve. You're my voice of reason when I'm grinding my teeth in frustration. You deliver the tension-breaking wisecrack that shatters my bad mood. You make me strive to be a better writer. And lord knows my vocabulary has increased since knowing you (I think that's possibly gone both ways, actually). You have become someone I can count on, someone with whom I can have serious debates or moments of silly fangirlishness. Sometimes it's hard to believe that we'll soon have "known" each other for two years. There's got to be a meeting soon, hebi-chan. You don't talk to someone nearly every day for two years and NOT MEET. ;)
Ahh, Megan. I know you said I didn't have to, but...
I have known you for a considerably shorter period of time, but in that short time, the similarities that have cropped up between us are, at times, FREAKY. I don't know if I know of another person with whom I share so many cross-fandom interests! I value, above all, your sense of humor. You're just so... cute! XD (I know, I know -- hit me later.) We too have had our serious talks, and it sometimes amazes me the speed with which we can alternate between super-goofballness, and down-to-earth discussion. I admire the energy and enthusiasm with which you approach the things in your life. You're a thoughtful, kind, empathetic person. You're non-judgmental, understanding, and helpful. You're one of those too-rare Good People, and I'm proud to know you.
You also have a surprisingly low tolerance for rampant stupidity, which results in even MORE humor...
I will do more on the friends meme later -- after I've WRITTEN THAT DAMNED BRIT LIT FINAL!
