*pat pat* I'm so happy that your Brit Lit class is the total light in your life right now, but this whole thing about your mom has got to be sucking the light right out. Honestly, I know about the whole guilt trip thing, but be firm. For instance, make up a grocery list with everyone in the household. Go through it twice, make sure nothing is missed. When you get to the store with her, don't let her get anything that isn't on the list -- why? "Because, mom, it's not on the list." If she throws a guilt trip, you can always offer to pick up whatever else she needed on your way home from work or the next time (if that's feasible). As for the chores...I know that one to a 'T'. Chris = a 10 yr old, even though I love him with all my heart; the boy cannot do laundry worth a darn. So I give us specific chores to do and make sure they are done. If they aren't done, I ask politely that they be done by him, because, well, they are *his* chores; he does the same with me. It might not work and if you've been doing this already then all I can say is that you gotta remain firm; but trust me, I *know* how hard it is!!
*hugs*
