So, school started up again today, and I hauled my ass out of bed at an ungodly hour so I could get down to my campus by 8:00 am to teach. That class, I think, is going to be a lot of fun. There aren't that many return students (only two), but they seem like a good group, and here's the freaky part...

One of my students?

Is George's youngest cousin.

Yeah.

So, we had a nice little visit before I had to boogie out of there. I did, however, have a bit of a rude surprise when I went to re-register for the Art History class I'm taking (taking it at my college campus instead of at UCF) -- apparently adjunct faculty DON'T get a discount in tuition. Motherfuckers. So I ended up writing a fucking check, spending money that we really can't afford to spend, so I wouldn't get dropped out of a class that I needed. And I had to PAY it, because, for some reason, financial aid won't cover it, but WILL reimburse me later.

...Okay. Great. Fucking GREAT.

CHEAP BASTARDS!

So, I got home around 10 or so, had time for a little lunch, and even cleaned up the kitchen. I then had to toddle my happy ass up to Cocoa for my magazine writing class. Afterward, I hung around and talked with the prof a bit.

...

She asked me what I was doing there. Not in a, "WTF" kind of way, but in a, "You've been-there, done-that, so why are you back?" kind of way.

*sigh*

She did predict that I'd do very well in the class, however. So I guess that's something. Instead, she recommended I look into the Graduate Certificate program the university offers -- I can get one in professional writing/technical writing.

Wow, that's so incredibly NOT HELPFUL NOW.

Tomorrow I have my class on Rennaissance Poetry and Prose (do not ask me why I caplitalize names of classes -- I don't know), and apparently the prof who's teaching it is a genius in his field and almost never teaches undergrad classes. Which is totally incentive for me to stick this semester out, even if I decide to switch over to the certificate program. I'll probably see if I can get in to talk with Dr. Campbell tomorrow (my old UCF prof/mentor/advisor) and see what he thinks. I really trust his judgment, and he's a nifty guy.

So, I guess we'll see, neh?
