Well, today was interesting. If by interesting that I was reminded many, many, MANY times over that I'm a good ten years older than everyone else on the UCF campus. *rolls eyes*

It was a good day, by and large. The campus had changed a bit in four years, but not too much, and it was a relief to know that I still know that place like the back of my hand. And it was weird, too -- the buildings all smelled the same. I kid you not. I went up to the 4th floor of the library (where all the literature books are [and I had REMEMBERED it was the 4th floor, too]), and I had... I don't know -- an olfactory flashback? See, one summer I needed extra financial aid so that I could fund a six-week study abroad trip to Oxford, so I took a couple of classes. Mom took classes too, so we carpooled. When she had class and I didn't, I usually snuck away up to the 4th floor to get a head start on my Oxford reading. I also used to bring my laptop with me and read X-Files fanfiction that I'd downloaded the night before. It was an oddly comforting experience to be back there.

Student parking, on the other hand, was anything BUT comforting. Bleh. Because of the idiot factor, I'm going to have to leave at approximately ten in the morning to commute to Orlando AND find a parking spot with reasonable time to spare before the class. Double bleh.

I popped in and said hello to my old advisor, who is now the head of graduate studies in English. He had a few moments, so we chatted a little. That was nice. Even if he was the guy who tried to talk me out of going into academia. (Though, I must say, I understand now why he did that.)

Of course, by the time I got to my car to leave for the day, I was feeling stuffy and run-down. Which, as EVERYONE KNOWS, is exactly when you feel like driving an hour home. *rolls eyes* (Yeah, it's about an hour commute, give or take. The traffic was heinous today -- hopefully it won't be like that constantly.) I think George has finally given me the lovely headcold he's been nursing lately. There are some things I wish he wouldn't feel it necessary to share with me. Jeez. No fever, thank goodness, but I sound lovely.

Well, let's see... it's about 8:00, and I haven't touched my lecture notes for tomorrow. In fact, I haven't the faintest idea what we're supposed to cover tomorrow, so I reckon I'll work on that for a bit before I fall into bed and have to do it all again tomorrow.

Oh, before I forget -- in the Rennaissance Poetry and Prose class, we'll be studying Othello! Squee!!! And Machiavelli!! Eeeeee!!!
