In all my years, through all I have been fortunate enough to experience while serving his lordship, from serving the Major in Germany to assisting him in any wide and varied number of baffling cases, I have learned to remain unsurprised at my lord's eccentricities; his lordship always has a reason for everything he does (and though it may at times seem madness, there is method to it) -- that said, I confess that retrieving "Cuthbert" from that shrieking harpy's bed not only left me unsurprised, but bloody well pleased.
