I imagine people will get tired of the puppysquee before too long.

But until that happens...

Look at that FACE!

I can't get over how tiny he is...  *coos at the little puppy belly*

Went to Jo-Ann Fabrics today and found tins, just like [livejournal.com profile] dqbunny said I would.  Very happy with what I found, too.

Bleh.  It was an early morning and a busy day.  I foresee a nap in my future.

Man you have restraint. if it was me and that was my puppy I woudl ahve had to go visit if I could. Nothing like puppy noises and that great feeling of have them in your hand when they are that tiny. I have to agree with you that nose is way to cute.

And I for one love puppy squees nothing better than puppy pictures or well Kitten pictures or foal ones. Baby animals are all cute.

LOL -- trust me; if she wasn't 2.5 hours away, I SO would have gone over there by now to cuddle and coo.

He's so. Cute.

And he so looks like a "Darwin."

I swear, I knew enough to prepare myself for the onslaught of cute when I saw she'd sent an attachment, but no amount of preparation can match Cute-Fu.

I'd call him "Darth Cuteface." 'Cause I have weird taste in names, that's why. And because he's SOBLOODYCUTE. *still in mild diabetic shock from encounter with 8-week-old Labrador puppy outside bus stop*

Hee! I'm so tempted to submit the face-pic to baaaaaabyanimals. I can't wait until his eyes open. I also can't wait to see what color his eyes will eventually be -- sometimes Aussies end up with mismatched eyes. XD

He's. SO. Cute!!!

I really, really think we are going to go with Darwin. We've gone through so many names, but none of them "clicked." I might see if I can get "Survival of the Cutest" on his AKC papers. ;)

SQUEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE!!!!!!!!

So cute! I've been too busy to look through LJ lately, and had to back-read some of your earlier posts first. SO CUTE!

And for some reason, I'm brought to mind of the Artful Dodger. Hmm... must be that eye-patch. ^_~

Heeheehee! "Dodger" might end up being a good nickname for him, depending on how fast he is. ;)

What is it about baby animals that will reduce a collection of intelligent women to squees and giggles?

*Takes another adoring look at teh puppeh*

You know? I think "Darwin" and "Dodger" both seem to fit him. ^^ "Dodger" also brings to mind Dodger the dog from Disney's Oliver & Company.

LOL -- I'm almost afraid of being like those parents who show off pictures of their kid. (We took a lot of pictures of the kitties when they were small, too, but those don't always make it onto the computer -- they're still stored on my phone or G's phone.)

I can't wait for his eyes to open!

I love puppies (and kittens) best after they lose that newborn sausage look. Until then, they all kind of look alike.

I agree. There's no doubt the newborns are cute, but it's a different kind of cute, you know? Once he opens his eyes and starts stumbling around, then we get into the neighborhood of "clumsy, cuddly fluffball" cute. :)

Oh cute! I assume he's going to get a lot bigger very quickly? Also, what do the cats think?

From: [identity profile] w0rdinista.livejournal.com
Ohyes. He's only two days old now. We'll take him home in eight weeks, and he'll be a lot bigger then, and will probably be full grown by next Christmas.

We're both pretty certain the cats will be all right with this. We've brought over our friends Jack Russell terrier quite a few times (we've watched her while they go away), and my mother has a Cairn terrier who also comes over quite a bit. Both are very high-energy dogs, and by this point, the cats aren't overly impressed with Marley OR Zoe. According to the breeder, Aussies will (and do) live with cats (she has three barn cats). When puppies are brought up around cats, they just sort of acknowledge that the cats are a part of the family "pack," so to speak.

That said, I do think that Kisa's nose will be a bit out of joint, as she's the more sensitive of the two. If either cat will get jealous, it's going to be her.

It's a tiny juggernaut of cute...

Rolling at you at 120 mph. You know that if you picked up his little body in your hands he would be warm and very soft and slightly wriggly and making the cute little puppy noises, and hell, you might even get licked a little by a very tiny, very cute pink tongue.

Dogs rule. I like them at that age, I like them when they're open-eyed and boundy and fluffy, I like them when they're grown, I like them when they're old, even when they smell a bit and dribble. Dogs are the best. My sister and I were discussing the other day the fact that we have no other ambitions in life than to be in a place where we can own our own dogs.

What breed is he?

He's an Australian Shepherd. The white blaze covering his right eye puts him below the "breed standard," so the breeder is going to sell him to us at a lower price, provided we agree to have him fixed. But, yes, he'll be ours in February.

I'm thinking about possibly taking a day trip up there BEFORE February, so I can take some pictures and hold that warm, wriggly little bundle of furry love.

George loves dogs; he's grown up with him almost his entire life. My family had German Shepherds when I was younger, so I managed to avoid that whole "fear of big dogs" thing a lot of kids at that age have. I do love big dogs (though Aussies are more "medium size"), but they can be overwhelming at times. George's parents have a Doberman who... is a big baby, but she's a BIG baby, and not very well-behaved, so while I'm not afraid of her, I am a bit intimidated, because she plays kind of rough.

This little guy will grow to be anywhere from 20-23 inches tall, though he'll be slightly longer than he is tall. So, full grown, he should be about knee-high, perhaps a little taller. Apparently they're also a wildly smart breed, so we're already planning on bringing him to obedience classes. I'm looking forward to seeing how much we can teach him. :)
