Lots of "squee" entries in December.  Should just re-name it "Squee-cember."

Anyway.

[livejournal.com profile] youkai_tsuki1, I got your card today!  Thank you!!

[livejournal.com profile] jazzy_fay, I got the package!  Eeeeeeee!  *lub!*  Thanks so much -- the teacup is beautiful. :D

And now time for a little pimpage:  [Bad username or site: @ livejournal.com]  C'mon!  Fruit's good fer ya! XD

Hmm... what else?  *taps chin*   Got all my wrapping done, so I'm very happy about that...

I know I've been busy today, but damned if I can figure out all I did.

However, I DID FINISH MY FIC FOR [livejournal.com profile] yuletide!!!!!!111onE!  And I'm kinda pretty happy with it.  It's cute.  I just hope the recipient likes it.  I think I fulfilled the request.  Pretty sure I did.  I feel like I did.

It's funny, but the last story I did for this challenge turned out to be "Shaken, Not Stirred," which was just a fun, light, silly story, and I was absolutely SHOCKED at how many people liked it.  I mean, it was really silly.  (But so fun to write.)  This fandom is a lot  more obscure, but was just as fun to write.  In fact, it was harder to END the blasted thing!

Glad you got it and like it. ^_^

Question about the FURUBA group, since you probably know more than I do: If you claim a single character, can you still use other characters in the ficlets?

I haven't looked closely at this particular claim community, but the rule of thumb is that you can generally use whatever other characters you want so long as the focus remains on who/what ever you have claimed.

Hurray for not having to wait until morning for the reveal! You had every reason to be happy with your story - honestly, it could have been a few pages that Sayers herself penned. Peter and Harriet are one of my favorite couples in literature, and this captured them so perfectly it . So yes, you fufilled my request - you more than fufilled it, in fact! Thank you again and happy new year!

Thank you! I'm so glad you liked it -- it was the first time I'd written anything quite that long in the Sayers universe -- prior to that I'd written a small handful of little drabbly ficlets. I was kind of nervous about writing anything of length, but once I got the situation down, everything came pretty smoothly. (And I kept Gaudy Night, Busman's Honeymoon, and The Norton Anthology of British Literature by my side while writing it...)

Anyway, I'm thrilled you liked it and this whole experience has put me in a mind to try writing Harriet/Peter again sometime. :)

I have not gotten to Gaudy Night yet - it lingers on my book shelf like an excellent bottle of port. Due to the inability of the publisher to put the Wimsey books in order, I started with Busman's Honeymoon and then went back to the beginning. I loved Have His Carcasse, and my copy is dogeared with all my favorite Peter/Harriet quotes.

For yuletide, I've learned getting the situation is key! I went through about four iterations of my story before I found exactly the situation I wanted. But thank you again - I hope you don't mind if I friend you, for when you do write more Harriet/Peter, or any other Sayers fic!
