Houston, we have puppy!

I am typing this with one eye on a curious, bumbling, stumbling, clumsy-as-hell puppydog rambling all over the living room.

Let this be known: Australian Shepherd puppies have the Softest Coats In EXISTENCE.  Seriously.

At this moment, the cats are most displeased.

I, however, couldn't care less, as I'm presently starving and just got word that I need to wait on making dinner b/c Tora-kun is working late (they're moving the old office into a new building, and he's helping with that tonight).  So, breakfast bars it is until I can order a pizza.

As a side note, the breeder was a wonderful lady, and I liked her very much.  We sat and talked for a good two hours before I left.  She's got a farm, and one of the horses had just given birth to a foal, which she let me see (OMGSQUEE), and it was just a wonderful visit.

I also found out that, according to the vet, of all the puppies, Darwin was... well, if he didn't have the mismark, he would have been the clear champion show-dog of the bunch.  Physically, he's perfect -- aside from the white around his eye.  That's mah boi. ;D

Something else I learned today: he has two different color eyes.  The left will be amber, the right blue.

Annnnd... yeah.  Puppysquee.  Lots of it.  Haven't taken any pictures yet, but I will post them when I do!

(Grumbles) Some folk have all the luck.

That said, I can't complain. My hamster is now three years old. He ought to be dead by now. It feels kind of a rude thing to say about one's pet, but still, it's unnerving. Maybe he is, and he's a kind of vampire hamster that has been drawing my blood as I sleep in a desperate attempt to get me to join its undead harem, except that it's so tiny and wee it can't drink enough to kill me. He just gets a bit fat and listless instead.

I'll test this theory tomorrow with some garlic and let you know how I get on, in the meantime, enjoy teh ppi and resulting squeedom!

I can't wait to see the pictures (people always find it disturbing that someone who hates children as much as I do can be reduced to a squeeing, baby-talking, babbling pile of goo by any mention of a puppy). And so far as I'm concerned, pedigree points are a dumb thing to care about, so kudos to Darwin. ;) I think his half-mask is simply beautiful.

I adopted Tony three months ago. Cleo is still very displeased. She smacks him regularly. And the big brave boy that he is (all 7.6 lbs of him) still runs away from her (all of 8 lbs).

Kudos on your new puppy! Don't worry about the cats, they'll come around eventually.

puppies!!! You *must* post pictures - pronto! They just put in a store across the block from my work, called "Pampered Pooch" and there's an American Bulldog puppy that sits in the window and sleeps - I try to sneak peeks at him when I can ;)

Puppies are the bestest ^__^
