Wow.  Really, really tired right now.  Possibly due to waking up at 5:30 this morning, or possibly due to being pretty darned busy today.  Part of the staying busy included taking Darwin to the dog-park, where they had a kiddie pool set up in the "big dog" area.  And, of course, he bounded into the pool.

And then we realized that our little digital camera could take VIDEO.

Darwin in action!!

After he got out of the pool, he promptly went and rolled around in the dirt and got FILTHY.  I mean, seriously SERIOUSLY filthy.  Our bathtub is presently ringed in dirt, and our puppy is passed OUT.

*yawn*

I might join him.

Do you have to put sunscreen on his face? When I volunteered with a local humane society a few years ago, I had to put sunscreen on a couple of merle dogs with a lot of white on their faces. I think they were homozygous merles which I understand is a bit of a breeding no-no. They didn't have dark pigment on their eye rims and noses/muzzles and would get badly sunburned in their outdoor kennels.

Hrm. The breeder didn't say anything about that, but it might not be a bad idea for me to ask. He does have SOME dark pigmentation on his eye rim, and when I compared pictures of him at 8 wks to him now, the dark is slowly overtaking the pink on his nose, but still, I should ask. He doesn't seem to get sunburned, though yesterday was pretty mild (typical Florida spring day). That's definitely something I should find out before the scorching summers get here. (Then again, with his coat, I foresee him spending much of our "scorching summers" inside with the A/C!)

Then again, he's from a merle-to-tri breeding, so he might not have that sensitivity. Going to write the breeder, just to be sure. (I love our breeder! We stayed at her farm for a good two hours, just talking, and she made it very clear that I was welcome to write or call with any questions, and she wanted to see as many pictures as I could throw at her. If we ever get another Aussie, we're so going to her.)

Eeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee! So cute! He definitely had fun. Now I'm tempted to get the dogs a mini-pool XD But thinking of the mess afterwards....hmmm maybe not. Especially after giving them all a bath today -_-. Too cute! Share more. My digi-cam has that function too. Should share some of mine :D

LOL! I KNOW! We were seriously thinking about getting him a kiddie pool for the summers here. My mom has an in-ground pool next door, but I'm not sure he'd dig the chlorine. And I think my grandfather would have a stroke if he had to deal with that much fur in his pool. XD But watching him was SO FUNNY. It's a good thing there's no audio in that clip (there IS audio, but it didn't survive the vid compression), because all anyone would hear was me laughing.
