Bronte and Kisa got settled in pretty well last night. I think they're clear on the litterbox location, and they know exactly where the food and water are. They've been keeping each other entertained, and aside from my having to pull them out from under my desk occasionally (even though I don't have any dangling cords, they still want to chew said cords), all is going pretty well.

George and I closed ourselves in the bedroom, "kitten proofing" things -- making sure there were no small chewable objects on the floor, hiding wires -- stuff like that. When we opened the door, the girls had been sitting at the TV. They looked up at us, eyes wide, and charged us, running full-speed into the bedroom. It was SO cute.

It was kind of funny -- George insisted on letting the kitties sleep with us last night. I tried to tell him that cats are, by and large, nocturnal, but he didn't seem to believe me. At 4:40 am, he got up to adjust the fan, thereby waking Kisa, who'd been snuggled up next to him (Bronte was snuggling with me). Once Kisa was awake, it was all over. She started pouncing pillows, feet, Bronte, my head...

I scooped them both up and brought them to the living room couch, heading quickly back to bed.

He called me, and I quote, "a meanie."

At 8:00, the kitties were let back into the bedroom. They settled down and slept with us until... about 11:30, at which point I was feeling hugely lazy and decided to get up

They're being adorable, fuzzy, and good right now -- I fashioned a tunnel on the couch with pillows and cushions. I think they're still sleeping inside of it. After, of course, a little pre-nap wrestle.

It's been a LONG time since I've had any kitten experience (approximately 17 years), so if anyone has any tips, advice, recommendations on kitten care/training/etc, I'm all ears. I've got to convince them both that, no, they really DON'T want to chew on the cords under my desk.

Off to go bask in the fuzzy cuteness that is kitties!
