Right, so.  As I mentioned before, I failed utterly when it came to sending holiday cards last year because at this time last year, I was working with school-aged children, and managed to catch THE PLAGUE from them, and it put a huge damper on the holidays and I was too sick to do anything, including bake, which sucked with the power of a thousand bendy straws.

This year, however, I'm getting started early... ish.  Hopefully.

IF YOU WOULD LIKE TO RECEIVE A HOLIDAY CARD, COMMENT HERE.  Replies are screened, obviously.

ALSO, because I got the idea from [profile] girl_starfish, and I think it's a fantastic idea (which fits, since she herself is quite fantastic) -- if you include a character/pairing and prompt in your reply (by this point, I think everyone knows who and what I'll write), you may get a little something extra in your card along the lines of a drabble.

It is my INTENTION to send out Christmas cards this year.  Whether or not it will happen is something else entirely.  That said, if you, for some unknown reason, would like a holiday card from Bunneh and Tora (though signed by Bunneh, yes), drop me a line.  Comments are screened.  If I sent you a card last year, I still have your address in a file.  You will more than likely get one, because... well.  I already have it. :)

I might even rip off the Den  take a page out of the Den's book and put kissy lip-prints in the cards.  We'll see. :)

So I'm sitting down to do Christmas cards, right?  And I've got my super-spiffy Waterman fountain pen with a brand new cartridge of inky goodness just waiting to flow.  Let me say now that I love this pen.  I love it a lot.  It's the Best Pen Ever, and my favorite souvenir, ever.  (I bought it in Oxford in 1999.)

Today, however, my pen -- or perhaps I should blame my hands -- are rebelling against me.

Aside from occasionally deciding not to write (leaving me with a scrap sheet of paper with various test-scribbles on it -- but sometimes it wouldn't write even after a successful test-scribble), the pen is in collusion with my hands.

See, there is one person on my holiday card list who has, quite possibly, the neatest, most gorgeous handwriting ever. And I wanted to reciprocate, because when I put my mind to it, I can have nice handwriting.  It doesn't generally last very long, but I can write neatly in short spurts.

So what happens when I go to write out her envelope?

I misspell.

And, of course, I don't have any SPARE envelopes, so I had to scratch out the misspell and try again.  And the whole thing just looks awful.  So, [livejournal.com profile] hallowd, please forgive the state of your envelope.  ;)

I'm also one card short.  *swears*  I may have to run next door and see if Mom has any extras.  She should.  *sigh*

And I realize that the international cards will probably not make it till after the 25th, but at least they're going out, which is more than I can say for myself last year.

Short, sweet, and to the point:

I'm thinking about doing holiday cards this year. I actually have a box I bought last year and never sent out because... I suck, apparently. But if I put out a message like this one, I'm more apt to actually SEND the blessed things rather than just look at them and feel a pang of guilt.

So.

Is there anyone on my f-list who'd like to receive a holiday card? If so, please respond with your name and mailing address, and I will try not to suck again THIS YEAR. (OMG how did it get to be November already? Gah!)

Comments will be screened for privacy. And I remembered to click "screen all" this time. :)
