My dearest friends may remember my ranting occasionally about our local anime/comic store. It's a charming little place that often smells of "OMG light some incense to cover the mary-jane!" I'm not saying that they DO smoke pot in there, because -- illegal. I'm saying that I had enough bad-influence friends in high school to know the result of trying to cover up that smell. (I myself did not partake, because, dude. I don't even smoke REGULAR cigarettes.)

So, along with the charming scent, the fact that it always looked like an utter pigsty (wall-scrolls half on the floor, t-shirts dangling off the hangers, a haven of broken folding chairs and stained beanbag chairs clustered in the back of the store where clerks would often play D&D, Yu-Gi-Oh, or video games in lieu of waiting on customers), AND the fact that the clerks had a bad habit of ignoring paying female customers because they were talking with non-paying friends, or playing D&D, Y-G-O, or some random video game.

Is it any surprise at all that the place is up for sale?

Didnae think so.

George is trying to talk me into buying it instead of opening a tea-shop. There are advantages, of course -- it's the ONLY comic book store/anime shop in town. The next nearest one is a big-ass anime warehouse in Orlando. So, no competition.

Frankly, I don't know how I feel about it. I mean, I was getting REALLY excited about the tea-shop idea, but I can see so many of the things that Anime Pavillion was doing wrong, and I have no doubt I could improve on it.

But... tea-shop. Indulging my rampant Brit-lit geekiness.

But... getting Furuba volumes early.

But... tea.

*sigh*
