Woot! We're home.
Not only are we home -- we have electricity.
We're both so fucking exhausted. It took the better part of four hours to drive home; I-4 was backed up for 60 miles and I'm pretty sure we didn't go over 35 mph while we were on that stretch of highway. Bronte fell asleep in her carrier, but Kisa cried for most of the drive. We got home, figured out we have power, and started unloading the car. I then had to run out to the grocery store because we were out of kitty litter and laundry detergent, and I'd left our toothbrushes and toothpaste in Tampa.
We had a proper dinner, because the frozen stuff in the freezer was still frozen, and I could use our oven. So, yay!
But god DAMN, I'm tired.
The college is closed Tuesday and Wednesday, so it looks like I'm going back to work on Thursday. Mom asked me to come over and help pick up the limbs and branches and crap in the yard tomorrow and George is going to head down to the office with his boss to see what the state of the building is. I don't have high hopes -- the building is right on US-1 and is a little on the old side to begin with. Well, we'll see.
I've got to call around tomorrow -- a lot of our bills are due during the first half of the month, and we had the small problem of fleeing our home to deal with. Urgh.
So tired. I can't wait to get to sleep in my OWN bed tonight. Mmmm. Featherbed. Queen-size. Down comforter. Mmmm.
