I have met the first game that I am actually looking FORWARD to playing again now that I've finished it.

Dragon Age: Origins.

Oh. My. God.

Well, I loved the story, first of all. And I loved the level of customization -- you can choose to be a human (and within that, either a noble, a rogue, or a mage), a dwarf (noble or commoner), or an elf (iirc your choices there are slave, noble, or rogue). You can customize the look of your character as well, which I am a total sucker for.

It's also very much a "choose your own adventure" type game. You make choices that lead you down different paths, and oftentimes those choices have repercussions down the road. There are a number of different possible endings for the game (one of the XBox achievements is "Perfectionist," which is what you get when you've played through ALL possible endings). You pick up companions along the way, and all of them are very different, and very interesting. They may turn on you or otherwise betray you, and they may not. You have so many options! I know that if I play the game through again, it may be the same in some parts, sure, but VERY DIFFERENT in others. I also stuck to the main storyline, opting not to do any side quests. When I play it again, I am so totally going to do the side quests.

I've heard that the PC version of the game has even higher levels of customization, and that the PS3 version has better, smoother artwork. But the XBox version suits me just fine -- the art is perhaps not as smooth as it could be, but it's also less glitchy, which I've read has been a problem with the PS3 version.

Also? ALSO. Tim Curry is one of the voice actors. Tim Curry, Claudia Black, Kate Mulgrew, AND MORE. So many voices I recognized! It was awesome. :D (Also, the voice acting itself is pretty awesome.)
